Google doodle pays tribute to end of 2012 Olympics

Internet giant Google Inc. on Sunday paid what could be its last tribute to the 2012 Olympics, with a doodle marking the Games' closing ceremonies. Visitors to Google's homepage (www.google.com) were greeted with a doodle featuring athletes in different sports, carrying letters that spell out "Google."

As in the past, clicking on the doodle takes the visitor to a Google Search Results page for "London 2012 Closing Ceremony." The doodle looked "cheerful," according to an article on IBN Live.

On the other hand, Sunday's doodle was the latest in a series of Google doodles marking different sports events during the Games. Google had posted a doodle for every day of the Games, some of them playable.

The doodles had included the Opening Ceremonies, archery, diving, fencing, rings, field hockey, table tennis, shot put, pole vault, synchronized swimming, and javelin. But some doodles allowed visitors to play and score, such as BasketballSlalom canoe, and Soccer.
